Thoughts on the creation of Westminster Stained Glass from the owner, Doug Schultz.

The inspiration to establish Westminster Stained Glass came from my first experience with stained glass as a child attending church. Surrounded by windows created in the 1950’s by craftsmen using age-old techniques of glass painting, these windows were the beginning of a life-long appreciation for the art of stained glass.

Until recently, I pursued this interest through studies of art history and visits to various churches and cathedrals throughout the United States and Europe. That all changed when I decided that instead of simply enjoying the windows others had created I was going to create my own. A skilled graphic designer by training, I now channel my artistic expression through stained glass work, which allows me to design and create custom works of art.
